Patchblocks are tiny modulair synthesizers, programmable the way you want. The free software is available for download at www.patchblocks.com. The software and a Patchblock is all you need. You don’t have to be a geek and know anything of coding, just use the “visual programming language” in the software. The virtual modules consist of oscillators, filters and delays, among others. You can even find modules for algorithmic composition.
The software enables you to create your own “patch”. By using “visual programming language”, you don’t have to write any code to make it happen. Visual programming is so much easier. Just choose from a variety of low level sound processing elements and combine their functions by connecting them via virtual cables, like you would do on a modular synth. You now only need the free software to be able to do this.
You can preview your “patch” in the editor. When you are happy with your sound, you upload it to your Patchblock via USB. After your Patchblock has been programmed, you unplug it to start playing. The USB powered battery enables you to jam up to 24 hours with your Patchblocks.
